This tour covers the various Temples, archeological sites, ruins of the bygone era and also a journey to the famous river island of Majuli. These famous sites are nestled between the famous Kaziranga National Park to the west and the state of Arunachal or Nagaland to the East. Here is our itinerary.
Itinerary
Journey to Sivasagar, the famous temple town. If we reach by lunch then take trip to famous Ahom era structures like Rang Gharand TalatalGhar. An evening walk by the famous Sivasagar tank and and experience the majesty of the temples like Siva Doul, BishnuDoul and Devi Doul situated along the banks of Sivasagar. Night stay at Sivasagar.
After breakfast journey to Kareng-Ghar (The seven-storied Ahom Royal Palace situated in Gargaon, the capital of Ahom dynasty). Gargaon is situated about 15 KM away from Sivasagar town. From Gargaon we proceed to the CharaideoMaidams (The UNESCO world heritage site). Maidams are the burial mounds of the ruling Ahom Kings and members of the Ahom royalty.Charaideo was the first capital of Ahom dynasty and was established by Ahom king Chao Lung Siu-Ka-Pha in the year 1253 CE. Returned to Sivasagar by evening. Night stay at Sivasagar.
From Sivasagar To Majuli Island.Majuli is one of the largest river island of Assam situated on Brahmaputra river. For this we take an alternative route by crossing Bogibeel bridge situated on Brahmaputra river. Reached Majuli by lunch. After Lunch visit to one of the Satras ( Hub of Neo-Vaishnavism, established by SrimantaSankardeva) to witness its unique culture and heritage. Evening visit to Ghat of Brahmaputra. Night stay at Majuli.
Morning visit to another Satra to witness its unique Mask making culture. Then after lunch take a cultural tour to a Mishing community village to witness their traditional weaving, house making style etc.Night stay at Majuli.
Day5: After breakfast proceed to Dibrugarh for further continuation of Journey.
