This tour offers a five days trek inside Namdapha National Park of Arunachal Pradesh, one the last virgin wilderness areas on Earth. This park has an elevation range between 200 m to 4751m above sea level and covered a total land area of 1985Sq km! This five days trek covers most of the core area of Namdapha and Camping inside this vast wilderness has create a once in a lifetime experience for every visitor to come. The trek is considered moderately challenging, involving 6/7 hours of daily hiking through varied terrain and potential leeches and slippery trails. 

Itinerary

Trekking expedition overview (approximately five days of trekking)

 

Day 01

Pick-up from Dibrugarh airport to Miao. Night stay at Miao, the picturesque town on the banks of the river Noa-Dehing.

Day 02

A morning drive Miao to Deban, from where our trekking expedition will start. Our initial trek, Deban to Hornbill Camp: The trek begins with a thrilling crossing of the Noa Dihing river on a bamboo bridge. You’ll then traverse through dense bamboo and cane forests before encountering tall trees and diverse rainforest flora. This segment takes about 5 to 6 hours.

Day 03

Hornbill Camp to Firmbase Camp: Continue trekking through the rainforest, keeping an eye out for birds like the Great Hornbill and Grey-Cheeked Warbler. First Ranijheel. This portion takes approximately 5 hours.Then Ranijheel to Firmbase Camp: The trek involves a steep downhill descent towards the Namdapha River. The path meanders through diverse forest types, including bamboo and evergreen forests, offering great opportunities for bird watching.

Day 04

One extra day at Firmbase to experience the nature in its original form.

Day 05

Firmbase Camp to Embeong: This part of the trek involves traversing alongside the Noa Dihing River, including navigating loose boulders in the riverbed. You’ll also encounter Lisu tribal villages along the way. This is a long trek, taking around 7 hours.

Day 06

Embeong to 32 miles (approx. 6.5 KM). From 32 miles drive to Deban and then to Miao. Night stay at Miao.

Day 07

From Miao to Dibrugarh Airport.

  • Terrain: The trail includes varied landscapes like rainforests, grasslands, and riverbanks. 
  • Difficulty: The trek is considered moderately challenging, with daily hiking distances of 5-10km. 
  • River Crossings: Expect to navigate rivers, potentially via bamboo bridges. 
  • Leeches: Be prepared for leeches, especially after rain. 
  • Local Guides: It’s recommended to trek with a local agency and guides for safety and logistical support

Best time to visit 

 From Late October to April

  • This trekking expedition fully complies with local Park authority rules only. So trekking itinerary is very flexible and can be changed within the trekking days also. But total days of trekking remain unchanged.
  • This tour preferably needs a group of minimum 4 guests to operate.
